Learn about your student representative candidates

On November 2, middle and high school students will have an opportunity to cast their vote in the election for Baltimore City’s Student Commissioner and the Officers for the Associated Student Congress of Baltimore City (ASCBC). Learn more about the candidates by watching their campaign videos on City Schools’ YouTube, and encourage your student to cast their vote on November 2. Their voice matters!

If your student is headed to middle or high school next school year, it's time to start learning about your options! Many schools will host open houses for potential students and families to visit, learn about different programs, meet staff, and ask questions. For a list of upcoming open houses and Choice Liaisons, visit the School Choice page.

Join the Student Media Team

Is your middle or high school student interested in photography, videography, podcasting, storytelling, graphic design, or TV hosting and producing? Please encourage them to join the City Schools' Student Media Team. Applications are now being accepted. Apply now!

Credit recovery opportunity

High school students who need to make up course credits before graduation can now enroll in City Schools' FREE Saturday Credit Recovery program.

The program will run from November 4, 2023 through March 16, 2024. Students can choose to take classes virtually, or in person at Frederick Douglass High School.

Free Family Farm hours

Next Friday is an early release day for schools, so how about a free and fun afternoon activity for the entire family? Head to Great Kids Farm on Friday, November 3, from 11:30 a.m - 5:30 p.m. to meet the animals, see what's growing, and explore the woods and stream! This event is open and free for all families of City Schools students and staff members. Register here to attend.

Free tutoring services

The Youth Library Tutorial is offering free tutoring to all students in kindergarten through grade 12. Tutoring takes place on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Enoch Pratt Library in Waverly, and on Sundays via Zoom. For more information, visit the Youth Library Tutorial. 

Free Thanksgiving Dinner with the Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is hosting a FREE Thanksgiving feast for all children and their families in Baltimore City on Tuesday, November 21. To register visit the Salvation Army.
