On November 2, middle and high school students will have an opportunity to cast their vote in the election for Baltimore City’s Student Commissioner and the Officers for the Associated Student Congress of Baltimore City (ASCBC). Learn more about the candidates by watching their campaign videos on City Schools’ YouTube, and stream the candidate Town Hall LIVE on October 18 from 6-7 p.m.

If you've got a student headed to middle or high school, it's time to start learning about your options! Many schools will host open houses for potential students and families to visit, learn about programs offered, meet staff and administrators, and ask questions about the school. High school students who need to make up course credits before graduation are encouraged to enroll in Baltimore City Public Schools’ free Saturday Credit Recovery program.
The Saturday Credit Recovery program will run from November 4, 2023 through March 16, 2024. Students can choose to take classes virtually, or in person at Frederick Douglass High School.

Imagine a cohort of students graduating with the life skills to invest, save, build credit, and uplift their families from credit and financial hardship. At Western High School, a new Personal Finance class for students in grades 11 and 12 has become a reality. Join CareFirst for a FREE resource fair on Thursday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bon Secours Community Resource Center 35 S. Payton Street. They'll have fitness classes, health screenings, fresh produce and so much more.

The Youth Library Tutorial is offering free tutoring to all students in kindergarten through grade 12. Tutoring takes place on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Enoch Pratt Library in Waverly, and on Sundays via Zoom. For more information, visit the Youth Library Tutorial.
