National Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and City Schools is focusing on bullying prevention with the theme "Community over Bullying." Schools are hosting assemblies and events to raise awareness throughout the month.

Join us this Wednesday, October 16 for Unity Day, and wear orange to show solidarity against bullying.

Families—now is a great time to talk with your student about recognizing and speaking up against bullying. For resources and bullying report forms, visit the City Schools webpage: Addressing Bullying, Harassment, and Sex-Based Discrimination.

spreading good news

At the start of the school year, we sat down with a few kindergartners and sixth-graders from Sandtown-Winchester Achievement Academy, Walter P. Carter Elementary/Middle School, and Waverly Elementary/Middle School and asked about what they think about school so far this year. We got a great range of responses that show some of the excitement, confidence, and energy that Baltimore City Schools students display every day. Special thanks to Principal Tracey Pratt, Principal Joseph Eldridge, and Principal Dr. Tanya Green.
