Clarity on observance days

City Schools understands that certain district assessments like i-Ready and MCAP, take place over several weeks, and some assessments may happen on observance days. If your child is absent on an observance day, they will have plenty of opportunities to complete assessments within the required timeframe once they return to school.

Schools won't schedule important assessments like final exams, unit/module tests, or quizzes on observance days. For clarity on testing dates and timeframes, speak with your school. For a list of observance days, please refer to the 2023-24 district calendar.

Visit a school open house

If you've got a student headed to middle or high school, it's time to start learning about your options! Many schools will host open houses for potential students and families to visit, learn about programs offered, meet staff and administrators, and ask questions about the school. For a list of upcoming open houses and Choice Liaisons, visit the School Choice page.

Student device distribution

Need a device? Check with your school!

Staff at school can request devices for students in need. If approved, families can pick up the device directly from their child's school. Families should not come to Central Office for devices.

If you have questions or concerns, contact the Office of Information Technology Service Desk at 443-642-3000.
