Setting the Record Straight

On November 11, 2024, WBFF-V aired a story, “At least 4,600 Baltimore City E/M students promoted after missing 60 school days or more,” based on data obtained as part of the Patterson v. BCBSC litigation filed in 2022. The story alleges “alarming numbers coming out of Baltimore City concerning students passing classes while missing months of school.”

WBFF-TV requested a response from the Board of School Commissioners regarding its cited data. However, while City Schools was unable to provide a response before the story aired, the following response was ultimately shared with WBFF-TV, which updated the web portion of its story. Read our full statement here: Setting The Record Straight.
