Partnership for Reading Success

Join the Partnership for Reading Success, where we empower caregivers to play an active role in their children's reading journeys. Attend three virtual and three in-person sessions over spring and summer, sharing ideas, trying reading activities with your child, giving feedback on new resources, and spreading the word to other parents. In recognition of Mental Health Month, City Schools is committed to fostering an environment where the mental well-being of every student is prioritized every day. With staff including school psychologists, wholeness specialists, and wellness specialists who focus on providing support for our students and families, our schools are here to help.

Parents and families of Collington Square students joined them for a kick-off of the ‘Last 45 House Color Party’ celebrating and promoting perfect attendance for the last 45 days of school!

Students from 12 elementary schools came together for the annual Spring Garden Summit at Great Kids Farm. They made their own herbal teas, explored garden-inspired movement and mindfulness practices, built pollinator habitats, and tasted farm-fresh honey!

Bard shock trauma

Bard hosted Shock Trauma's Stop the Bleed Program. Students learned life-saving techniques to stop bleeding, including wound compression, packing, and tourniquet application.

DUNBAR PRINCIPAL NAMED 2023-2024 MARYLAND PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR!

Paul Laurence Dunbar High School Principal Dr. Yetunde Reeves has been named the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) 2024-2025 Maryland Principal of the Year! Dr. Reeves was surprised with her recognition during school on May 6th, 2024.

Dr. Reeves received four separate nominations for the prestigious award that recognizes an outstanding middle or high school principal who has provided high-quality learning opportunities for students and staff and made exemplary contributions to the profession.

Congratulations, Dr. Reeves, on the well-deserved recognition!

Volo Kids is on a mission to build communities of active, resilient, and confident kids through free quality sports programs, and registration is still open for their spring programs! Volo Kids has programming at a number of Recreation Centers and Parks throughout Baltimore City.
