Visit the FYI Art Exhibit

As part of Arts Education Month, Baltimore City Public Schools students will showcase their incredible visual artwork at the FYI: For Your Inspiration! exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Art.

The free exhibit will be on display in the third-floor Contemporary Galleries from March 12-16, 2025 (open Wednesday through Sunday), from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum will offer extended hours until 9 p.m. on Thursday.

A family and community art-making workshop will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 15.

Middle and high school students can vote for Baltimore City’s student commissioner and their Associated Student Congress of Baltimore City (ASCBC) officers this May. ASCBC is Baltimore’s elected student government, and the Student Commissioner is the student who sits on the School Board. City Schools increases high school graduation rate

Maryland State data shows Baltimore City Public Schools’ four-year graduation rate rose to 71.0%, the highest since 2019, while the five-year rate hit 74.0%, the best since 2020. We spoke with staff and students from the Academy for College and Career Exploration, Patterson, and Dunbar High to learn how they did it.

Career Exploration takes flight as Dunbar students visit Martin State Airport

During Career and Technical Education Month this February, students from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School explored exciting career paths at Martin State Airport! They engaged in hands-on experiences and gained valuable insights into careers in fields including aviation and law enforcement. 

With the support of local mentors and public and private organizations, these students are actively shaping their pathways to success.

The Baltimore Ravens are hosting their annual Leading and Inspiring Females to Thrive (L.I.F.T.) conference on Tuesday, March 25. The L.I.F.T. conference will empower the next generation of female athletes to harness and develop their leadership skills, on and off the field.

Enter the Work Zone Safety Poster Contest

Governor Wes Moore invites all K-12 students to help the State promote Work Zone Safety by participating in the National Work Zone Safety Poster Contest.  Posters must be 11 x 17 or 12 by 18 inches and include the theme: "Respect the Zone, So We All Get Home." Submissions must be submitted to the Maryland Highway Safety Office on or before March 21, 2025.
