Spring Break meal options
City Schools will not distribute meals during Spring Break, but students can get meals through the Recreation and Parks Spring Break Camps. REGISTER TODAY for Spring Break camp! Families can also visit www.charmcare.org for resources like meals, emergency services, mental health resources, and more. Stay nourished and enjoy the break!
Apply to be an ASCBC candidate
Attention parents of middle and high schoolers: Empower your children to make a difference and join the Associated Student Congress of Baltimore City (ASCBC), Baltimore's elected student government. The Student Commissioner, a pivotal role representing students on the School Board, influences City Schools policy and budget decisions.
Encourage your child to apply today if they're passionate about leadership and advocating for youth. Click HERE to apply; the deadline is April 8.
All aboard for Math Night
All aboard for a fun night of learning! City Schools is hosting a Districtwide Math Night at the B&O Railroad Museum on Wednesday, April 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. Families and students can engage in math activities and take home resources to support learning at home. Yorkwood celebrated all things Math at Yorkwood's Family Math Night. Students, families, and staff, came together to engage in activities, play math games, and learn about math strategies.
Science students at Govans have been learning about the history of the Earth and what we can learn from fossils. They had some hands-on learning in class by "digging" for fossils!
Baltimore City Public Schools is building a strong foundation of learning and academic success. Students attending our pre-K programs outperformed the State average for proficiency on the MD Kindergarten Readiness Assessment by 6%. Read more on our website.

Looking for something safe and FUN for your students to do during spring break? Join the Mayor's Spring Break Camps at over 30 recreation centers throughout Baltimore. The camps are FREE, run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will include food, entertainment, age-appropriate activities and more. REGISTER TODAY!
Dream Big Contest
What will it take for us all to be free?
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Lyric is asking students this question as part of their Dream Big contest. Students in grades 5-12 can participate with an essay, poem, video, or artwork. Finalists get to showcase their work on the Lyric's historic stage and win great prizes! The deadline for contest submissions is March 22.

Baltimore Ravens L.I.F.T. conference
The Baltimore Ravens are hosting their ninth annual Leading and Inspiring Females to Thrive (L.I.F.T.) conference on Tuesday, April 9. The L.I.F.T. conference will empower the next generation of female athletes to harness and develop their leadership skills, on and off the field.

Touchdown for Teachers!
Know an amazing teacher? The Baltimore Ravens Touchdown for Teachers program, with M&T Bank, honors local teachers for their outstanding work! One lucky teacher gets a $5,000 grant for their school, a visit from a Ravens player, Poe the mascot, and cheerleaders, as well as a Ravens jersey.

Exelon Foundation STEM Academy
Young women in grades 10 and 11, who are interested in climate change, sustainability, energy, and STEM are encouraged to apply for the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy. This FREE week-long leadership program will be held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County campus, and at the end of the week, the participants will get a FREE iPad to have!

Congressional Art Contest
Calling all high school artists! Get ready to showcase your artistic talent at the Congressional Institute's high school visual art competition! Submit your masterpiece to Representative Kweisi Mfume's office by April 5. District artists will pick the winners, who'll be honored in their district and at a Washington, DC ceremony.
