Proposed budget presentation for the Board

Tonight, City Schools will present the district's proposed $1.78 billion budget for the 2024-25 school year to the Board of Commissioners during their regular Board meeting at 5:30 p.m.

The proposed budget is grounded in equity for all students, guided by the district’s new Portrait of a Graduate strategic plan, based on the district's accomplishments, and is a reflection of the feedback from the community. The Board will vote on the budget on May 15, 2024.

Forest Park Foresters Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) cadets took part in a service learning initiative by contributing their time at the Maryland Food Bank.

Fifth and sixth-grade students from Hamilton are actively engaged in Southwest Airlines' Adopt-A-Pilot program. Fifth-grade students learned how to plot coordinates with their designated pilot Captain Isenstadt.

Corporal Betty Covington has served as a City Schools Police Officer for 25 years. She recently hosted a Black History Mens Panel as part of the larger work she does in Baltimore, focused on connecting students with career opportunities.

During the annual CIAA basketball tournament, we attended the High School Education Day at the Baltimore Convention Center, which focused on connecting students with various opportunities beyond high school.

Exelon Foundation STEM Academy

Young women in grades 10 and 11, who are interested in climate change, sustainability, energy, and STEM are encouraged to apply for the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy. This FREE week-long leadership program will be held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County campus, and at the end of the week, the participants will get a FREE iPad to have!
