On May 20-23, students in grades 6-12 will select Baltimore City’s next Student Commissioner and the Officers for the Associated Student Congress of Baltimore City (ASCBC). Graduation season is quickly approaching and we cannot wait to celebrate the class of 2024! The graduation ceremony schedule is up with dates, locations, and times for all high school graduations.

2024-25 School Year Schedule and Calendar
The first day of school for the 2024-25 school year is August 26, 2024 and the last day of school is June 11, 2025.
Winter Break will be from December 23, 2024 to January 1, 2025. Spring Break will be from April 14 to April 21.

Peace and Remembrance Day
Please join Baltimore City Public Schools for Peace and Remembrance Day as we honor our students who were tragically lost to violence. Join us at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 23 at the City Schools District Office - 200 E. North Avenue.
Partnership for Reading Success
Join the Partnership for Reading Success, where we empower caregivers to play an active role in their children's reading journeys. Attend three virtual and three in-person sessions over spring and summer, sharing ideas, trying reading activities with your child, giving feedback on new resources, and spreading the word to other parents. Pre-K and Kindergarten

Patterson Park seventh-grade students have been learning about the Harlem Renaissance through EL Education in class. They took a trip to New York City to see the current Harlem Renaissance exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Pre-K students in Berol Dewdney's class at Commodore John Rodgers, have been learning about 3D shapes, learning about the solar system, building fine motor skills, and more.
Students from the Green Machines Environmental Club at Booker T. Washington were with Governor Wes Moore at the Maryland Department of the Environment’s headquarters in Baltimore in celebration of Earth Day.

As part of the new partnership between the Baltimore Orioles and City Schools, students from Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School have had the unique opportunity to attend batting practice before Oriole games, interact with players and staff, and enjoy an evening of baseball. Thurgood Marshall contest
Elementary and middle schoolers, it's time to get creative! Enter WJZ's Thurgood Marshall Art Competition by crafting art inspired by the life of Thurgood Marshall. The winner will receive a new Macbook Pro! Entries are due by May 15.
