5 Things to Know at City Schools

Safety and Wholeness

Come to the Safety and Wholeness Committee listening session

The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners' Safety and Wholeness Committee invites you to a community listening session from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Patterson High School (100 Kane St, Baltimore, MD 21224). Speak directly with the committee about your ideas on improving school safety and student well-being. Learn how the committee is actively addressing safety concerns and find ways you can get involved in this important work.

Light refreshments will be served.

City Schools families and staff are invited to enjoy a fun, hands-on day at the farm—completely free! Meet our animals, explore the trails, try a cooking demo, get crafty, and see what’s growing.

Celebrate City Schools Fine Arts Month

Come enjoy live performances from dance ensembles, choirs, concert bands, drumlines, and more on May 6, 7, and 8 in the North Avenue District Office lobby.

In addition, high schools with arts designations—including Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts, Baltimore Design School, Baltimore School for the Arts, and ConneXions—will showcase student artwork in a collaborative exhibit, Celebrating Arts Designated Schools, at the Guilford Gallery. Students: Learn about your student representative candidates

Students can vote for their student representatives this May! On May 19-22, students in grades 6-12 will select Baltimore City’s next Student Commissioner and the Officers for the Associated Student Congress of Baltimore City (ASCBC). Candidates begin campaigning on Monday, May 5.

To learn more about the candidates, participate in the LIVE Town Hall on May 8, 6 - 7p.m, check out a full voter guide on ASCBC’s website, and watch the candidate’s campaign videos on City Schools’ Youtube.

Join us for an inspiring evening at the Youth Impact Jam, where we’ll celebrate the creativity, leadership, and vision of our amazing students! In collaboration with five local organizations, City Schools Youth Ambassadors have spent months identifying real challenges in their communities and developing innovative, student-led solutions using systems thinking.
